A recap of last night's Ottawa/Toronto game.

Ottawa's Craig Anderson made 45 saves last night

Toronto Maple Leafs fans were probably shaking their heads after last night's game against the Ottawa Senators.

I know I was.

The Senators are amongst the worst teams in the National Hockey League, yet, Toronto lost 4-3 in regulation time.

Ottawa's goalie, Craig Andersen stopped 45 shots last night.

45!

What's worse is that Ottawa scored the first goal of the game in the opening period.

Mike Hoffman made it 2-0 Ottawa just 1:52 into the second period.

Toronto did, however, bounced back.

Andreas Borgman scored for Toronto at 18:10 of the second (period).

Just 54 seconds into the third period, James Van Riemsdyk tied the game.

Unfortunately for the Leafs, Gabriel Dumont put the Sens. ahead again at 2:15 of the (third) period.

Morgan Rielly tied the game at 12:28.

It seemed as if Toronto was going to go into fourth overtime in five games, but no.

Tom Pyatt put Ottawa ahead for good at 16:55.

Ottawa's Matt Duchene had two assists.

Toronto's Tyler Bozak also had two assists last night.

Toronto is now on their bye week and won't play until next Tuesday, (Jan. 16).  Toronto is hosting the St. Louis Blues.
