Auston Matthews gets two points in Leaf's comeback win.
The Toronto Maple Leafs snapped their four game losing streak last night against the Ottawa Senators with a miraculous comeback win. Zach Hyman opened the scoring at 7:26 of the first period. Ottawa's captain, Erik Karlsson tied the game 1-1 at 3:08 of the second period with a power play goal. Mike Hoffman made it 2-1 Ottawa at 7:12 of the second period. At 18:05, Tom Pyatt scored a short handed goal to make it 3-1. It seemed as if Toronto was headed for another loss. In the third period, however, Toronto began their comeback. Auston Matthews finally got out of his slump last night by racking up two points. Matthews scored Toronto's second goal at 2:53 of the third, (period). Mitch Marner tied the game at 4:21. Connor Carrick put the Leafs ahead for good with a goal at 8:58. Hyman also had two points last night. Ottawa's Mark Stone had two assists. The Leafs host the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow night.
