The Fight We Call Life

The Fight We Call Life

A Poem by Erica Ross

While everyone is just sitting, waiting, wondering and contemplating
I'm here
Being me
Enjoying my life so freely

I know the answers
But I don't bother
I hear the orders from my Father
But how do I get the people to follow?

Everyone wants love but no one knows how to keep it
Everyone is a thug but they keep weeping
Everyone wants help but won't give it
Some people have everything but they don't need it

See, the world is full of this and that
But I'm not talking just white and black
It's the shades of grey that get in the way
It has everyone living life in their own space

It seems like we can't win for losing
Every time you think you're fine life just has to disapprove it
In the end I just want to have it right
That's why I won't give up on this fight we call life
