Raindrops Keep Falling On The Dead

Raindrops Keep Falling On The Dead

A Poem by Eric Cox
"

An unusual horror poem.

"
Raindrops keep falling on the dead
my coffin's too much for my head
bound inside my shrouding tomb
I feel the haunting of doom and gloom
Those raindrops keep falling on the dead
they keep falling on my coffin bed
Now I'm not free
the Reaper's shadowing me.

So I did me some talking to Mr. Death
and he said he won't ease our rotted breath
those raindrops will keep falling on the dead
they'll keep falling on each coffin bed
We will never be set free
bound in the shadows of eternity.

I like the last verse & the talk with Mr. Death. Horror & probably more truth than we want to imagine. Good work, Eric.

A very frightful poem what makes all my hair stand on end. Outstanding horror imagery in this. I can hear that scream rattling about inside my head wanting to escape through my mouth. You're a Master of Horror for sure!
