Pendulum Joke

Pendulum Joke

A Poem by Eric Cox

On Halloween
Mr. Mean
created a horror scene
he chained me to a slab
I felt terror grab
as a pendulum started swinging
and Mr. Mean began chuckling
it swang back and forth
closer and closer
slowly it would be over
in slices of pain
fear filled my brain
I tried wildly to get free
as the blade crept closer to me
closer and closer, so very slowly
the blade was so sharp and so deadly
when it was 1 inch from me, almost slicing
I screamed in misery, it looked like the ending
but he stopped it just in time, laughing
and laughing and laughing
he said: "A good joke, huh my friend?"
this Halloween horror came to an end.
