I Miss You..

This is a letter for my late Grandpa, truly everything I feel since he's gone. He passed away when I was 12, and it's a great loss to me. He's a grandpa, a father, a friend, and a teacher for me.

Grandpa, if you're standing beside me now, please read this.

I still remember..
When you said it's okay when my teacher reported that I messed at math multiplication at school
When you read me all Hans Christian Andersen's stories
When you accompanied me to sleep at noon
When you listened to what game I played at school
When you taught me to feed deers
When you take me to a park with your bicycle
When you're mad at me because I spilled your markers' ink
When you bought me ice cream that my parents forbid
When you taught me English, Word, and Excel

Now, why in my 20s, when I need someone like you, you've gone?
When I need someone to say it's okay when I fail at my college tests
When I need you to tell your love story with Grandma when I began to date
When I need some company to cry because I fought with my boyfriend
When I need someone to listen when I broke up and broken-hearted
When I need someone to teach me how to "feed" my motivation when I fail at college
When I want to take you around with my motorcycle
When I need you to be angry to me when I'm too lazy to do my tasks
When I need you to talk to my parents because I only want to try a sip of Jack Daniel's
When I need you to teach me about life when I feel so desperate about many things

Well, that's all. Keep praying for me from up there and see you when I see you :)

This poem felt very real and vivid. I really like the wordiness of every line, it's like you need to get out every detail of your memories because they're all equally important. Even the anger and sadness in some of the lines feels tender. Nostalgia is often a cheap trick, but I think it was well placed here. Great stuff!
