non-stretch material

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

non-stretch material

my heart is a cross dresser---

longs to wear your love

but the tight fitting fabric of its pulse

is stitched with strands of solitude

Definitely not breathable! Why, the fashion alone would strangle you! 😉
Love can be like wisteria. Kept well maintained, it is very beautiful. But unchecked, it destroys the very structure it climbs on. House walls can soon crumble from the weight. In the same way, love can sometimes strangle the heart.

'non-stretch material'
Jacob,
Great title. The soul-heart has it's own thoughts and feelings and we can be scattered in a fashion that is inflexible tight fabric. It's 'pulse' is real and stuck in place. To move out of a domain where love is desired but unrequited is super tough. But the wrong love is worse. fun to read this one through twice.
Bless ya,
Kathy

Your always welcome Jacob.
solitude does preclude stretch-to-fit mentality....

it allows for a certain inflexibility to take up residence in the dressmaker's shop.

lovely write.

You are better off because solitude is a real ally in the principals of beauty!

It's a lot of work, fitting into someone elses expectations. Better to wait for that "perfect" fit

Oh for the paradox that lines our linear lives~~

I hope you're finding that sacred space, even in the (occasional) confines of love.

After being alone for a long time, I am not sure anyone can fit into the costume of love. Great metaphor. Lydi**
