a Testament of Chaotic Comfort

a Testament of Chaotic Comfort

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a Testament of Chaotic Comfort

the spiritual dilemma

of a dew drop

covers up the legacy of envy

that un-serene green

in a pasture of longing

souls unsatisfied with partial rainbows

colors exist in prayerful modes of sky

an inkling of yesterday's rain

the trouble with exceeding the needing

until the blades of belonging cut the ties

love loses dimension

within its own rosary of rebellion

and quarrels find confessional anecdotes

of too many acts of contrition and regret

Sunday's pew

finds only a few

in genuflection

when the tip of the sun

at last

reaches the grass

of reflection.

An intriguing write mixing naturalism with theism. The freedom of choice rings clearly giving a bit of insight to the reader of the poet's own convictions.
When there is less to do with love, and more with green.. we lose sight of what is important.

I saw the synchronicity and levels of it at that:)
love the last two stanzas...

we do not need to physically attend a service in order to pray, or to reflect on our souls.

i love the use of internal rhyme here too.

quite a thought-provoking and beautiful piece

even the soul experiences night sweats, its fragile petal covered by that single drop of dew and thoughts wander about the damp grass wondering what the whole picture really looks like...each blade of grass on lowered in prayer until the sun arrives to bring them out of their spiritual slumber... such a splendid use of figurative language...love it
