Face

Face

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Face

soaked with bloated raindrops

that fell from my sky's eye and

became paralyzed on a cheek

of bony impertinence

that won't allow the waterfall to reach

its conclusion.

Emotions can do strange things to us and emotions not allowed can do terrible damage. Tears should be a cleansing thing and not dammed up ... for one day they may release and we will drown in the sorrows, never to emerge from the deep end. Good job!

You are very welcome!
And if we let them back up in a puddle...does the pain dissipate
A tear , a beautiful tear.
Each one holds something never two alike
Lovely words fine sir
Thank You for sharing, Holly

This sent me in a trans... made me think of all the times I cried for so many different things at once and really wasn't sure why and my pain stil was not eased afterwards... short and very heartfelt

Such a sad rendition of crying - that when you cry even your tears are kept from completion. I wonder why you felt this way, and why you decided to publish this now?

My pleasure, so glad I can again enjoy your writing.
This is so good!
I can your metaphor quite clearly of things we can't get over.
How it makes our face(life) ugly and also the tears can be washed away but it cannot naturally go to it's end and reach it's conclusion to make our life better.

We hold back the tears, stubborn in our defiance, unwilling to allow the emotions to flow, fearful that once the tears begin they may might consume us. This is a lovely write.

This hits home. Sometimes our inability to let go of some precious memories prevent us from moving forward.
