veins of indignation

veins of indignation

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

veins of indignation

october blush

the red accent of later years

crimson age accruing

noticed more when the color splashes

like a long run and jump

into a pile of accumulated leaves

of life

Autumn is a perfect metaphor for the human aging process.

We do become indignant when our bodies don't work the way they did during the spring of youth because of how differently we feel in our minds. It's such a cruel incongruity.....

Terrific write!

in the autumn of life our skin thins and the blood appears closer to the surface...while we may be angry at the moments lost over time there is still passion flowing in those veins and before we enter those final winter years, we just want to make those leaves fly from the neat pile that has been building... such a vivid picture painted here, my friend

Autumn came early to Vancouver this year on account of the drought … still best to love it all the same. Crunch crunch and wee wee go the leaves. Love 'october blush' … beautiful.

Mmm... very striking. Feels like vibrant strokes of paint. Crimson is a touching choice for old age; but it's that image of it splashing up with all the colours of youth-- swells me with beauty. That's what I feel about writing, that it splashes up the years we've known on pages torn from time.

Well posed, and well painted.
