fireside chats

and slipping words under wool

 

the sweater swerves

of hands, trying to kindle fire

 

blue flame lit,

skin verbalizing

 

in silent, fast breaths

the crackling of wood

 

sounds the sensual chimes

as the clock dial becomes voyeur

 

and the two in orange balance

stare with hour glass eyes

 

into timeless surrender.

Its funny Jacob My version on a first read was a woman knitting near the fire reflecting in thought of her life experiences of loved ones or just drifting off in thought,near the fire, her thoughts drifting with the cosy heat and the chimes of the mantel clock!
