complexion

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

complexion

a leaf among a million

turns to blush

before hiding its soulful drop from dignity

and the outstretched arms of the branch

release their grip on reality

and the red rider of the wind

becomes another ember in the fire

of afterlife's twisted imagination.

one of the most beautiful pieces i've read in a long time....

exquisitely written.

the tree's branch tries desperately to cling to it, yet must set it free. there is no other way....

thank you, rubie---appreciate the attention to this piece...seemed to not evoke much reaction.

hard to understand why from where i stand.

it's an amazing piece...
wow. This is so beautifully metaphorical. I love the imagery of the outstretched arms of the branch and the lone red leaf clinging desperately until it loses its grip and floats away in the wind, "the red rider of the wind". A beautiful thought to take to sleep with me. Thank you, Jacob.

this is a stunning observation of autumn, my friend...it's like the human body in it's final moments of life...

I see femininity in this leaf
Like you have placed qualities of woman and of a leaf in this beautiful mix

The branch is so masculine
Like he hold her far but she is so close to him
he has her

Together they create this imagination

i know i am wohoooooo but this is what i see
