Beggar Subject

Beggar Subject

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Beggar Subject

splendid heartbreak

she was the queen of goodbyes

royalty to send me reeling

edict not of etiquette

but floundering foresight of emotion

empty throne
crown of thorns,
the garden's empty
and i am again a pauper
sole heir to a kingdom
of nothing.

She was No Queen.
A Queen protects her Kingdom and Protects the Heart of it and Hearts in it.
She was A Usurper . A False Queen. She was faint !

Hows that for a review? LOL I think I forgot the review and fell deep into the story LOL

Many of us elevate our loves to the lofty heights of royalty, in our minds; when the undesired heartbreak arrives it lowers the one who has loved so regally to the level of pauper, begging for relief from such wounded feelings. A very good way to paint that picture! take care...dan

your reply is great...worded so well it is better than the poem itself.

j.
riches and wealth (literal and figurative) only bring heartbreak, misery and worry.

better to be happy without than miserable with.

very tight piece.

Seems that even beggars have more heart and compassion of many other factions of life I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and worried myself but rule your kingdom justly for the heir of an empty kingdom

"Beggar Subject?" Oh, well.. it's just always fluttered to the top as a breaking news ... to the world but the funny thing is.. it's been there since 'eons & ..will be there till the end of universe not cause that's what it's 'bout but ... the "subject" is what even the world's became 'bout. Quite diplomatic thou' straight to the concept! Nice shot!

thank you for your kind review, Adams.

Yep, been there....still there, in fact. How wonderful it is to be in total control of an empty destiny.
The first stanza was really lush with imagery, alliteration and rolling vowels. I thought this contrasted well with the desolation in the second stanza and gave the poem real punch. Wow.

thank you for your words, Zeitnot.

very kind review.

Even with all the foresight. Noone is invulnerable to heart-break, and disappointment. Any break-up coming out of left-field can send a person reeling. I don't think it's about love. I think some people just like the idea of love. Then the sudden realization, they are just incapable of love; not real love anyway. Just their own fantasy of it, and feeding off another's vunerabilties to sustain whatever it is they lack. Haha but is not for nothing, God created alot out of nothing. Just one of life's many lessons. great poetry. I like how it speaks to me.
