Crash

Crash

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Crash

total liquidation

thoughts to ink

ink to paper,

stocks of the heart sold

to the highest bidder,

moving on to another life,

no pens,

no keys

no prophetic shape needed

only a "soul for sale" sign

crookedly planted in a yard of despair

creativity inhaled out of thin air

breathing erratic

like Bernie Madoff

just made off

with all my wealth of feelings

leaving me totally

blank.

The last lines really got me. Your poems are such nice things to read. So full of deep imagery.

You're welcome. Always. :)
Getting involved in a romance is an investment...and a risky one at that. The mention of Bernie Madoff in this one is brilliant. Just saw the TV movie about him.....still can't believe he conned so many. Lydi**

You encapsulated many men in the investment game. I recall, There, a brutal indictment of a man's soul gone eerie.

Problem is Madoff is in the country club prison. I'd send him to Rikers.

Great writing!

Al

Our words are left behind with everything else when we are no longer here. A legacy for some but what happens to the others? A well done poem.

Hmm, something in the air. I think sometimes we just goo blank for a while. None can show emotion endlessly. It uses too much energy.
Hooper it all comes back soon, but I'm sure it will. Jan
Ps- loved the Bernie reference.
