Whirlwind Calendar

Whirlwind Calendar

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Whirlwind Calendar

you were my yesterday

i was your day before

now we are tomorrow's year from now

but separate days of the week

hours spliced into moments

of seconds forgotten so quickly

the mere thought of them

dries tears faster than they appear.

I often think that life is little more than a multiple choice question.

Wished I (almost,) always knew which box to tick. :)

Whirlind calendar - a life lived and living!

I like the way the last lines are not 'tearing up' - leaves past in its place in the present.

Why does time dissect these treasured moments till they are no more! Nice as always J

thank you, andrew...and yes, why does time do that?
Hocus Pocus....it's all smoke and mirrors and today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday! The first couplet is my favorite.....this is all too common in relationships. Lydi**

Beautifully stated Jacob. Sometimes it feels that not only time separates what we had, but dimensions and universes do too, leaving us wondering why something that felt so right at the time could have went so wrong.
Superb Sir.

It's sad how once lovers are today strangers. It all feels so cold blooded. Your words are spot on and much appreciated.

People change over a period of time and so are our priorities. Indeed time flies so quickly.

This is so good. Yeah i can relate a little with this one. Reminded me of a few things, but then again there are good times and bad ones as well. That's how life rolls.

wait, Jacob was that yesterday's today or last year's tomorrow? I'm confused...
I know that feeling of never being in the same day at the same time... reminds me of that some by Dr John about the right place but wrong time or was it the wrong place and right time, never in sync just like those "dried tears" before they even formed...

I like this poem Jacob, love, even on Valentine's Day is confusing...
