the bending of love

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the bending of love

elasticity
stretching my patience so thin
yet the ties won't break

the paradox of love, the need for intimacy whilst guarding against the potential pain of loss or rejection.

brilliantly conveys the heart's continuous desire to
seek love, yielding even at the risk of shattering.

thank you, Greg, appreciate your visit.
I wish we could repost poems from other writers on our profiles here. If we could I would put this one as the featured poem because I couldn't have said it better or agree more with what you said. Love does seem to stretch our patience muscles threatening to snap them like rubber bands, but it is a strong love that never let's go. Love the way you worded this Jacob!

True love and infatuation are not so widely separated. Just stretched to breaking point sometimes. Your eleven words contain a lifelong message.

Gee
Like this Jacob.Should show it to a good mate of mine, got cheesed off with her indoors after 20 years, played hide the sausage with a Northern bird, must 'ave given her the hump because an anonymous letter arrived Tuesday addressed to his good lady wife.He must have had the worst flight of his life from Dubai, the wife is fiery to say the least, now he's trying to salvage marriage and keep hold of properties,2 warehouses and a thriving business. All for a different hole in a distant town. And we're the shoulders to cry on.

wow, not a good situation for sure...thanks for the read and words, Gee.
Love, when true, seems to break in difficult times, but the bond still remains in the end.
Nice senryu.
