a not so simple spring shower

a not so simple spring shower

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a not so simple spring shower
i'm a flake,
caught in a rainstorm
melting petals
"she loves me not"
the liquid flower
in my hand,
daisies plucked out of a now certain sky
winter is over,
but the tears falling
are recollecting the cold
a little too well.

thank you!

Good to let it rain down, it washes away pain.
Don't ever count on daisies... Those pretty flowers wilt too fast.
Blue skies ahead I hear. :)

yes, those blasted daisies...

thank you, Ana....

Memories always come to haunt you. Life is always about the smiles and the tears. The storms and the gentle rain.
Sad words:
"but the tears falling
are recollecting the cold
a little too well."

thank you for your words, Shabeeh.

Hard to feel happy when we wallow in past regret. Another well written poem, but then again, I am partial to your style.

The reason I love the title to this piece is becuz, these days, even simple pleasures never turn out to be all that simple. As your poem suggests, there's a tearful reminder in every rainstorm, even as we realize how it quenches the bright daisies along our way. The best messages (like this one) show how everything in life has hard & soft layers (((HUGS)))

thank you for your kind words, barleygirl...

I keep thinking of the spring blizzards people get caught in... This reads a bit more subtle than a blizzard to be sure. There is movement to the sorrow here. "i;m a falke" and "the liquid flower" aid the falling tear to be seen by the reader. And the dampness is a bit uncomfortable; as it should be.

Enjoyable read Jacob.

Umm... kinda heartfelt words! Make me saying: "love makes people happy, love makes people sad. Love is just love in guise, whether u want it or not, love oft. makes yablook like a "flake".

Nice & poignant imagery. Keep it up!

The words told a sad story. You took me with you to the rain and sad thoughts and places. Thank you Jacob for sharing the excellent poetry.
