a quiet frost

a quiet frost

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a quiet frost

i read your words with icicle eyes

our mutual blood frozen to the page

and mine is starting to crumble

into cold cold pieces

of disinterest.

Definitely describing some of my familial interactions here! *sigh!* This is how it feels after the hurt & disappointment fade . . . when it no longer matters.

There is something about coldness that pierces you deep within. The sharper it is, the more succinct its execution the stronger its impact on the heart and the mind. That is exactly what your write manages to do Jacob. The allegories are well-chosen and as always you manage to captivate your readers in pithy, brief lines.

Take care,
Best,
M.

We hope it is just a frost and not a hard freeze. But I guess that's why the make anti-freeze, whatever form that takes for each of us. A delightful and deep write.

dear Jacob... When the frost is on the
Pumpkin... strange things can happen...
like country songs and winter with
chilling degrees of insanity on my part,
but from my heart. Pat

Good one, j. Succinct, sad and with an underlying hint of anger.

The destuction of a relationship in Winter and the reconstruction of the feelings for it in writing. Excellent writing nothing less.

I walked the dogs in a cold morning and found interest in your poem along the way. If only I could make a poem of myself, cast the disinterest aside and make the frost an uncle to my icicle eyes.

Al
