A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

writers on the storm

Cain has come back to life,

damn tree,

the wisdom of the apple wormed away

by infinite ego

trying to equal the knowledge

of the original gardener

well, the trip from Eden

to the edge of insanity is short

step out of line,

and the line dance is over....

we have over stepped our bounds of common sense

to dine at a common buffet,

each dish with a mutual ingredient:

fear

and Abel better start running

as fast as he can.

Oh yes Cain and Abel. A very brief piece that can be interpreted into different ways if one wants!

we have over stepped our bounds of common sense
to dine at a common buffet,
each dish with a mutual ingredient

Catchy lines. Lucky to read.

Biblical proportions in here, Cain who slayed his brother Abel , they are fear mongers and that has been the ultimate control for eons..ghost fear, death fear, control fear, fear not, with faith the size of a mustard seed, we can turn it all around. Just believe- tomorrow will be a better day...don't just believe it..KNOW it.

thank you for your words, Corset---
I sort of recall a Jimmy Cagney movie, when he shouted the words. Top of the world Ma.
So i can sort of foresee madness for a time.
But in saying that. I think trees are quite resilient.

You are welcome my friend.
This kinda makes me shudder & retreat back into my solitude, surrounded by wilderness, & wait out the storm *sigh!*

lovely. i liked how amazingly you imagined this stuff, & then very carefully pierced deep down in such given words. you seem to have a very great knowledge of 'bible' esp. 'bout the intercourse of Adam and Eve. interesting thing. Abel had to be killed in the end and you killed in the guise of makin' him escape.. but from his own life. excellent work here!

Well done, j. Either way, the serpent wins and the people suffer. It seems we do suffer fools gladly. Maybe Cain and Abel will produce better offspring in the future. Love the sly reference to the Doors. Doors have opened, but which are painted with ram's blood? Good write

thank you for your kind review, Ted,

At last I`ve got some time to look at poetry, and rewarded myself with a fine thought provoker.
The Bible is a great book, even if you don`t believe in God ( I don`t), a source of ideas and wonderful, poetic language. You have worked this very well, my congratulations.

For evil to proper, good folk need do nothing! ( And sadly that's often the case )

A cerebral piece Jacob, metaphorical food for thought indeed !
