the influence of cold winds

the influence of cold winds

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the influence of cold winds

i have blisters on my inspiration

raw numbness of phrasing

no feeling in my words

frozen coffin lies

don't collide with page

as they breathe their last

integrity sits upon titles

but depravity corrupts...

you cannot sense my grief

you are too far removed

insulated,

warmed by your own self-centeredness

but one day,

those blisters will grow on you

there will be a coffin waiting

and the ground will not be warm

or welcoming.

but i will suddenly be inspired again.

Sit by the fire, and thaw out my friend. Only a passing season, and spring is coming around the corner.

This sounds like a few of the other old timers on this site who are having some trouble unthawing their minds to be able to jot down a few lines of thought. It isn't just cold winds, it is our aging. Valentine

This time of year ...I try so hard to forgive and even harder to be forgiven. There seem to be a few that slip through every year...with that reality my heart slows a little with each beat.
