Dimensions

Dimensions

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Dimensions

built an igloo

around me,

self-centered flake i am

or maybe others constructed

it to keep me within myself

either way,

i am now wondering

how my years will see the melting

or if my state will just be

one of preservation,

with no capital gains accrued

a blizzard of lonely emotions in

silent snow

a heart found

in another dimension

still

frozen

solid.

I found it difficult to read the 3rd line...but once I gained my footing from the stumble, I also learned another word! ...fancy that!

Reading you is like piecing together a puzzle...in the best of ways. God, you are so good!

A world of many dimensions.
I suppose since day dot, man surrounded himself in some sort of protected abode. Mainly from others. But through time, from himself. I recall the word space being used a lot now. On the street, in the office, work space. We all need that little bit of space to call our own.

Aloha J,

This one sounds so sad... and yet, hopeful as love may be just around the corner.

Thanks for sharing.

a heart found in another dimension still frozen solid... sometimes those igloos are necessary - perhaps a frozen heart just needs time to heal. Regardless, come over to my page Jacob...the fire will always be warm for you my friend. :) Julie

Yes we create our own isolation in fear or just to protect ourselves, a home within a home for our emotional stability and maybe a withdrawal from mankind.

well said, my friend..."a home within a home"---
yes.

Jacob, first and foremost I always must compliment the simplicity and potency of your writing. Next, to my understanding we travel through connected time. These dimensions are merely windows ahead of windows backed by a mirror. Our visions are the same only the meaning has changed. It is only with this man-made time that gives humans comfort in knowing they have control. The igloo may hold you captive whilst freezing your expression of future light and warmth, but within the mirrors of our dimensions one person has already foreseen your shivering despair. As always it has been a pleasurable read. Thank you for sharing.

These dimensions for a beating heart, only creativity can provide them. And you have shown it Sir, a still, frozen solid heart lonely yet capable of blooming..
Some times I too ask myself this question. Who builds the wall?
May be perfection, being very rare, erects the wall..
Thank you for sharing this, Sir.

This is beautiful.
Trapped in an igloo that is often self created or maybe made by others to keep us in.
Either way we are frozen somewhere in time.
Is there any means of escape?

i hope there is...thank you for your insights, Shabeeh.

Whether purposeful or one day it appears, the walls of any means built often fade over time and the heart becomes visible once more...the coldness and detachment here is so visceral and poignant. Only time can tell as the cliche goes, always thought provoking reading your poetry :)
