Clairvoyant

Clairvoyant

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Clairvoyant

dust to dust

his smile,

the deep set eyes

the bones of a man

the structure of the face

dust to dust

voice of ash

still resonates from the churning urn

the fiery manner,

discerning

the feeling of a Father's love

deeply set in a heart

and in the bones of a son.

A very well crafted image again. The echo of the past, a memory of love and a junction still softly trembling like a gossamer, associated and evoked by the dust of a being. It's the emotional connection we carry on in our hearts and bodies, ringing through us. The sound of reminiscing, sonic leftovers which add to ourselves.

I'm in a continual search for truth and love. I found it today in this poem, in the last three lines.
Thank you for helping me rediscover it..

Very cool title concept for this poem about hearing the voice and manner of a departed father. So powerful. I loved,
"voice of ash
still resonates from the churning urn"
So good!

I'm really hoping some of that good dust went into my kids.you know the kind like yours that blows around helping things grown beautiful, making sneezes so we know we are really still alive. The kind that the lungs choke on....gasping for more breath to create words and wisdoms....more life....more love.....

everyone has said it pretty well... we are most often our father's son (or daughter) and he stays with us always and no crystal balls are needed to see him...

it is never really easy to see our mom or dad go, even if somewhat expected... it takes us into a world where ghosts live and speak and where nothing is the same anymore...

I love your poem Jacob, it may say, "Father's Love", but it speaks loudly of "Son's Love" in return...
