the fluctuation of teardrops

the fluctuation of teardrops

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the fluctuation of teardrops

most of the time,

the rain is straight laced

downward angles, pelting truth

but on occasion,

that horizontal path,

like the white lies of lightning

emits crooked drops

splashing us with falsities

relationships can be like April weather

the on and off

of truth and lies

the pulsating skies in the eyes

of a lover,

what do we believe?

clouds never burst

or the sun never sets on love

pondering the conundrum

the mind hears thundering applause

it drowns out the integrity of honest clearing

so we anticipate the next storm,

either looking forward,

or seeking shelter.

All relationships have their ups and downs but it gets sketchy when lies twist truths. Love the wording and the imagery of this poems.

It's a little sad that we might anticipate a storm, when maybe there will be a lovely Spring Shower.. Lie after lie leaves us holding on to an anchor, instead of searching for the "Ship of Good Hope"....sigh....

Wow....... Good One !!

You are welcome jacob....................:)....
Thought the eighth line read: "splashing us with falsies." Which, of course, wouldn't be such a horrible fate--especially for those who prefer small breasts. (Admittedly, among men, this group would be comparable to the size of an OJ Simpson fan club.)
Digressions aside, your poem is lovely, elegant and cannily conveyed; a brilliant bit of pure poetry!

It's all in the perception, right? Great simile and metaphor. Wirds elegant and flow like summer rain. Love the last verse's hypothesis- it's up to the individual to solve the relationship equation...Always great

Jackson hides, I just want the storm to hit me, knock me down. I remember a scene In Country where Bruce Willis is up in a tree during the storm, daring god to strike. I was rooting for him all the way.

Al

We can bury our heads and ride out the storm or defy the wind and rain and challenge the maelstrom to bring our ship to safe harbor.

In the words of Mr. Excitement... lonely teardrops...my pillow never dries

Good one, j.

It all starts with sunshine.
Light rain moves in.
Heavy showers on the horizon.
Thunder and lightning send you seeking shelter.
The bar is open.
All is good in the world.

Love like the weather cannot be predicted except to say it will occur. Whether it enters or ends in a storm or a gentle breeze one never knows. We sit in the eye and we wait.
