in you

in you

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

in you

emergency embraces,

miming lip service,

entwined in the chaos of life

the sanctuary

a ride in the ambulance of friendship

takes us to perfect accord

accordion emotions played out

the music of each other

close the doors

find solace in tingling skin

touch the nerves

and then we walk again

paralysis of pain assuaged

massaged from the heart

grateful eyes need no voice

silent arms hug goodbye.

always nice to have that comforting blanket, that special friend where no words are exchanged and everything is understood, its like a second home!

thank you for your insightful words, andrew.
i used to have someone that i always ran to when things went wrong and i got the comfort i needed, but it was one those things that was good in the moment but unhealthy in the long run and this makes me think of that

sounds like a fiercely emotional roller coaster of a relationship ... i treasure my peace and non-disturbance ...me thinks i would run from this one ..and not as ambulance chaser ;)

I love the way your word sounds reflected one another within the stanzas. So much great imagery here too...

Emotion-packed and metaphor messaged.
You are amazing! One a*s-kicker after another.
Take a bow, kid!--you've been tearin' it up.

You are one of my silent teachers, Jacob, and I thought I would acknowledge that publicly here... Your work never fails to astound my sense of grammatical knowledge...

*paralysis of pain assuaged
massaged from the heart*

Just... Brilliant...

Aye, thank you...
grateful eyes need no voice

Really like that line. Feels like an ancient proverb.

What would any of us be without simple words from a friend that extinguishes the heat of frustrations and worries. It can resuscitate hope in the smallest, yet most needful way.

comfort is something that in our moments of need we would give anything for but in everyday life is forgotten how powerful it can be. how it is given or received varies but the effect is indescribably unique. a most cherished friend knows just what the doctor orders when sensing it is needed. I agree: "grateful eyes need no voice"... we all look for that connection, that comfort, that momentary escape from everything that I see in your write. ((big hugs)) this one made me want to give you one :)
