in you

in you

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

in you

emergency embraces,

miming lip service,

entwined in the chaos of life

the sanctuary

a ride in the ambulance of friendship

takes us to perfect accord

accordion emotions played out

the music of each other

close the doors

find solace in tingling skin

touch the nerves

and then we walk again

paralysis of pain assuaged

massaged from the heart

grateful eyes need no voice

silent arms hug goodbye.

The accordion is a million miles away from The Who's 'Mommas got a squeeze-box' but the warmth of the former lasts longer than 'wham bam thank you mam'
I love the way you wittle the words here Jacob.

"...a ride in the ambulance of friendship" Few words to describe all the attributes of a good friend. I admire those of you that can pin down volumes in so few words. Well done.

An afternoon delight? Yes, a quick fling often is the balm our souls need t continue in this whirlwind life. You conjured images of a neon sign flashing outside a window....though you never mentioned them. :) Lydi**
