what really burns sweet

what really burns sweet

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

what really burns sweet

my elaboration

is a collaboration

of words and phrases

heart and soul fazes

my intention

is a convention

of trivial verse

not so terse

as to be succinct enough

or distinct enough

sounds like a thousand other poets

in wistful configuration

and conflagration

of an indignation

to ignite the passion,

as i recite

calcite responses

to those who are cold as stone

thinking love poems

are spreading fluff

as i eat my cotton candy dream

and the keys stick to each other

like the two of us.

Cotton Candy dreams that linger like
the scent of Roses... sticking together
in a Bouquet of Poetry... tenderly, Pat

what really burns sweet is our immutability or our capacity to change even when change is what might bind us together....Like two keys sticking together when the wind is blowing and the lock is frozen.....I get it...and it's marvelous.....dana

Words in a relation that fit a certain scheme gave itself the punch it needed.

Love the alliteration throughout! Nice smooth flow and poke at the art of writing poetry. Nice!

The calcite responses are from those who have been burned by love; and having been burned, they are afraid. Love, however, wins out in the end. Always has; always will.

Beautiful phrasing throughout.

This poem just dances on the page- great musicality, form, cadence, rhyme. Clever and playful words. But artful words and thoughts nonetheless. Fluff is in the eye of the beholder...What's wrong with a little fluff every now & then anyway??!

This would be fun to hear it recited... we all have our own voice and our own style of writing... rhyme if you like or don't (I choose the latter)
