who's listening

who's listening

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

who's listening

owls have wisdom eyes

and abrupt vocabulary

they turn heads with their understanding

of the silence of the night

humans hear sounds, a cacophony of blurred vision

they don't hear the muted manicure of what matters

there is no neatness to love

doesn't need to be

let the nails grow from the pain

defiled memories embed

that's real life

and fingers which look like that

have wisdom palms

readers can trace...

Ah yes, there is wisdom in these words & in more ways than one. Look & ye shall find. Yes, splendid words indeed.......I would be an owl for a night, for sure...........Neville

thank you for your kind words, Neville..

Owls have wisdom.
Humans have vulnerability running through them.
Maybe that's what makes us human.
I'm actually surprised we get to old age with the trouble lines running through us.

Nail biters have witnessed a side of life that no one else would wish to experience... most likely will never know the extent of it.

very true--thank you, Corset..

There is more wonder to be found in the ruined castle, than there is in the pristine front room.
True beauty rises from the broken. Where there is light, there must be shadow- and we walk between these truths.
That is a wonderful write- well done!

You are more than welcome.
"the muted manicure of what matters" great alliteration here. Yes, it's true....life is not neatly packaged for us with a bow on top and neither is love. Real life is messy. Learning to navigate it is what teaches us lessons. I liked this one....honest. Lydi**

The silence holds the loudest sounds, echos with the inner voice, for those who want to listen, to understand their truth that is there inside them, if they wanted to hear, pain can either drag us to the lowest point, or can raise us, it's our own choice, and our own willing, strength and courage. a piece filled with emotions, though they are not written, but behind they are laying there for us to feel.
