Estimate

Estimate

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Estimate

you're my fender bender absorption

the dents to my once mobile heart

now i am in the shop for repairs

and considering the mileage accrued

with past relationships

running on painful tread,

i have a notion to park myself in a lot

and idle with you for awhile,

the dents are just cosmetic

but my interior has been brought back to its original sheen

by your love

and as long as i know i can drive away if i need to

my feeling is that i won't want to---

as long as you are sitting in the passenger seat.

"Estimate"
jacob-erin-cilberto,
This phrase is full of hope! "Fender bender adsorption".
You know, this poem of yours speaks of such beauty...pain absorbed
like a sponge. Love does that. Writing of the past nicks,
scratches, and desecration of your soul's shell. This car
of yours has found a great auto body shop.
Found this so cute:
"I have a notion to park myself in a lot
and idle with you for awhile,
and dents are just cosmetic
but my interior has been brought back to its original sheen
(by your love") this little line speaks volumes.
Fun read for sure!
Blessings,
Kathy

Fender bender. That should be the word of the year.
Some people just make you happy.
You need to hold onto them at all costs.

Despite the nuts-and-bolts metaphorical imagery, "Estimate" is intensely romantic.
Thoroughly enjoyed this high-quality piece!

This metaphor is superb, Jacob! No matter how many times a heart has been broken, there is that one special "one" out there who can repair the damage. Unfortunately they don't make replacement parts for our models anymore! :) The romance in this one is hidden, but still there. Lydi**
