houses of an insane alliance

houses of an insane alliance

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

houses of an insane alliance

serious integration of thoughts

restless nights like restless winds

turmoil thrives under blankets of doubt

i dream you into and out of being

i wake with heavy lids

vision for the day

a blurred version

the print too hard to read

we are bookends

but on different shelves.

An unrequited or unrealized relationship, much in common, but far apart, by geography, or time ...

Someone should move you yo the same shelf... The reader ends with the question on how that can ever happen.

"We are bookends... but on different shelves" - WOW , I think all of us have found ourselves on those shelves at some time or another. Lots of heart in these lines, raw honesty. So glad you are back Jacob. Many mahalo x

Bookends on different shelves....wow! So often relationships are so far apart and nothing we do can make them come together. Raw emotion in this one....well expressed. Lydi**

Bookends on different shelves, what a great metaphor for a failed or failing relationship. Have missed your poetry Jacob.
