a conciliatory concert tour

a conciliatory concert tour

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a conciliatory concert tour

symmetrical longevity
the real rings of love

not the gold bands
but the music of sentiment
played by the bands in our heart

to a sellout crowd
with entreaties for
encore after encore

and we, kiss after sweet kiss
of compassion, delighting them
with our eternal song

and promise to return to the venue
again and again, even if
we have never left.

it's that deep yearning that brings the crowds, we humans live, truly live and begin to understand ourselves at a deeper level when we explore every angle of every emotion. It is this same emotion that binds us as a race. Sure we have the naysayers, we are all naysayers too, to some extent, just depends on how much we allow our inner scales to tip - but at the heart of all of it, the essence, the flow, is one thing and that is love. IT's binding, it keeps us going, it reminds us of why we are alive. And a funny thing happens when we see people experiencing this kind of love - it allows us to remember, even if only for a fleeting moment, that we are all connected by this same eternal love.

Well, that's what cam to mind after reading this. It's a beautiful thing! Hope you are well Jacob.

You are welcome my friend.
The "concert tour" appears to be playing an unsatisfactory, never-ending wedding reception.
Whatever the actual theme, your words are--as always--clever, metaphorical and compelling.

Your words capture the heart of a man who embraced us with his soul.
