Filet Mignon

Filet Mignon

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Filet Mignon

Market Price Fool

cuts her heart with a fork

she renders tenders

helpless

but in her bones

the softness supplants itself

with sharp tactics

that cause him to

rethink the menu.

I enjoyed this. The only thing about the filet is it has so little flavor. I'll take a ribeye any day. :) In fact, had one for lunch.

I love how you switch it up every now and then.
Brevity in poetry is alive and kicking. Cool diversity, Jacob!

Nice writing Jacob, a slight adjustment in your style here, so few lines but still delivering the knockout!

A soft-hearted schemer--now, there's an unusual combo!
Still, this one sure does appear to be bad-to-the-bone.
Rethinking the menu seems the wisest course.
Thou art most creative, Chef Jacob!

hmm lest you mistake her softness for weakness and take advantage of her savory flesh! Are you an A-1 or or a Worcestershire sauce kinda poet?

This is brill and probably could not have been put better..... I used to go out with a woman called Mignon, for a while, she was a French drug rep...and far too serious by half but could never make her mind up........ Neville

my pleasure as always... N
Tenderloin takes time to cook, but atleast would taste better than a discarded filet mignon. Not everyone can cook a tenderloin, not everyone deserves the best. Sharp piece of writing.

Not what she seems indeed. People never really are, are they? We are always present our better selves and save the sharp barbs and jagged edges for later on. Very interesting work here! Thumbs up.
