Don't know to whom you're referring (though, "gated" might be a big clue.)
Occurs to me, however, if "limited vocabulary" is the criterion, I live in a neighborhood full of people who would spellbind the hell out of you.

Some how this made me think of two people with language barrier....trying to communicate.... And yet he is amused and awestruck with her....without enough words to form the connection... lovely write J.
