Burning

Burning as they stream down my face

These tears are nothing in comparison

To the pain I’m feeling right now

Without you by my side

 

It tears and rips

At my soul

This intense pain feels

As if it will never leave

 

My heart aches

And bleeds endlessly

Flowing just as these tears

That continue to burn

 

Why are you not here

To stop this seemingly endless pain

I wish with all my heart you were

You’re the only one who can make it stop

 

I know you wish you were here to help

Everything you say heals a piece of my heart

But it will never truly be healed

Until I can call you mine forever

 

For now I must cope with this burning

In my heart and soul

As I wait for the day when we can truly be

Together forever
