Secret Love

Secret Love

A Poem by Hannah Messer
"

Something quick I did, not sure how I feel about it. Definitely not my best, but it's something I guess.

"
If I said I love you,
would you say it back to me?
I've sat for hours,
imagining it,
too scared to try and see.
Don't want to tell you how I feel,
for fear you'll turn me down,
but if I don't,
I worry things will never turn around.
If I say I love you,
please don't answer with a lie.
Don't be too shy for honesty,
to make me sad or cry.
I want your love,
your heart and soul,
but only if you choose.
Since I don't really have you now,
I've got nothing to lose.
If I said I love you,
would you say it back to me?
I guess I'll work the courage up,
to set that secret free.

Such an amazing and emotional read.

Beautiful. So much emotion expressed and the frustration and hesitation of confessing to someone you like... Good job. ^_^

Lovely poem. I've got nothing to say about the meaning, because it's just that wonderful (since love is such a pure poetry subject), but I do want to compliment you on your structure. It flows nicely, tumbling off the tongue. Nice work, you have a talent. Merry Christmas.
