What should I do

What should I do

A Story by Snow Angel

I am unable to be satisfied. I can't even sit down, relax, and watch TV. I have nothing to do. I have very few people to talk to. I am restless all the time even when I sleep. I feel like I can't relax no matter what I do. I'm worried that even when I return to work and get out of the house in the real world I am going to feel the same way. I feel trapped. The day drags slowly. I do nothing but wish to wake up feeling better. I desire to have a fresh start. I wish to enjoy life and feel normal. I ask myself daily what should I do to make things change for the better but I can't find answers. I dread writing all of this because when I read it back it sounds overwhelmingly depressing. I guess typing it all out is the only way I can express myself. Has anyone ever felt this way? If yes I would love to hear what you did differently that made you feel like yourself again?

This hits me hard because I feel trapped right now. Exactly why I joined this site to talk about my feelings. I hate my job, I am bored at home. But if I hate my life at home and at work, then I have no escape. Today I decided to make a change. I applied for college and I am going to change my life! I want to do something I love hoping that will turn my life around! Challenge yourself! You can do it I promise!

I find this very relatable. My own life is unpredictable and I can have a lot of down time which leads me to understand these feelings. You have articulated this human experience beautifully.

I find writing in itself can be a cathartic process. Be patient with yourself, small steps don't leave anything bottled up.

Your honesty here is very beautiful to behold. Self-honesty is the most important thing in writing. It sounds to me like this would be a possible case of real clinical depression. It would be good to have it checked out by a therapist, if you can afford that. I've been depressed most of my life & I can say that it's almost impossible to turn around a really bad mood, when you need to have medication to help. I've tried to live most of my life NOT taking meds for depression, but sometimes it just becomes necessary. Being on meds for 4 years, I learned to overcome such bad feelings by using tools in my toolbox, such as writing as you're doing here, or taking a walk, or doing a hobby that distracts you from the bad feelings. Eventually, I learned to distract myself without medication. It is possible to stay happy, but it takes a daily commitment to stay busy, or to find things that support the feelings of happiness (like in my case, I love the outdoors, so I live in the country, where I feel more connected to nature). I wish you the best in finding a way to feel better. Even at age 61, I still have to tell myself that I'm going to have a good day, even tho I am in constant pain. It's good to let it out when your mind is in pain, as you've done here. It's also good to try to find something happy to write about sometimes, too. Being a happy person takes practice (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I overcome my sadness doing what I like doing and writing helped me a lot everytime, I felt as if paper can absorb my feelings and it really helps and I feel better after pouring my emotions out. I understand how you might be feeling, message me if you feel like there's no one to talk to, I would love to listen to you.
Did you come across those days,
When you feel low for no reason?
When every little noise hurts you,
And laughter causes you irritation.
Do you feel such?
When you get really annoyed on everyone,
And every little thing they do, hurts you so much.
Tell me I am not the only one who feels this way,
Tell me sometimes it is fine not to feel okay.
Even the silence bothers the same way like noise,
I feel no difference in sadness and joy,
Every feeling in me faded away,
Time heals everything they say.
When will that time come?
Days are turning to years,
I am still in that same place,
There is no one to wipe my tears.
Tell me it is okay to feel like this,
Tell me I am not the only one.
Tell me that you feel the same,
Tell me I am not the one to blame.

In my lifetime. I changed my life completely four times. Sometime we need changes. Maybe a new place to live and try to find a place with your pleasures. Music, poetry reading or dancing. All of us get bore. Sometime we need to re-eval our life. Maybe find a better path.

well it`s just like food, you eat dinner and you start searching the fridge or pantry looking for something that your body needed or craved and didn`t get it,something missing in your life,

Have you ever considered taking a class, or getting involved in community events? This will give you something to look forward to, and open your world to more possibilities. Who knows, you might just find what you're looking for.
Getting out of the house will definitely help, so I would start with that...
Best wishes, and shoot me an email if you need someone to talk to.
