every

every

A Poem by S. Michael Long

All the f*****s cry for c**k
all the Christians cry for truth

would you envy me to see the things I see
and declare your lies as proof

every w***e cries for just one more
then a second yet a third

every land dweller wants for favor
wishes wings to fly with bird

every consequence lends to circumstance
every utterance to a word

all and every misplaced feeling
draws its influence from the herd

but ofcourse.
we are social animals, after all. no matter how much of a misanthrop one may be...
"no man is an island...", and all that preordained jazz (contradiction intended)

OK. Your piece: i like the layout, rhyme scheme. subject matter is one of my all time interests, so i enjoyed reading. i didn't even think your use of c**k and w***e was cheap cliche - rather, they fit well.

thanks for sharing, michael
