Sunday In July

Sunday In July

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

Waiting for people can give you many contemplative moments

"

Early hot June Sunday;

I sit in my car

on this winding road,

with flashers on,

hoping a car

doesn't come

careening around the bend behind me,

seeing me,

too late.

Waiting for my granddaughter,

almost 20 years old,

with golden hair

and the most arresting color

of blue,

for her eyes.

A bow mouth

and porcelain skin;

a smile

that pierces

my heart.

dipping here and there among your fine pages, I am impressed by the simple presentation of moments that are natural to our days...to me, that's fine work...

What a simply gorgeous piece..
as a Grandmother to a wee one, I too fall into her beauty..
