Takes Its Toll

Takes Its Toll

A Poem by Barbara Walker

Degeneration

of a part of the body,

has such a degenerative action

on the spirit, the soul.

A desolation,

its weight so heavy,

takes its toll.

Wow, I was going to say a lot of people would be able to relate to this but the comments below me show that they can. This says a lot, Barbara. I loved it.

Can relate to this....my husband had a blood clot in the artery of his leg ten years ago and ended up with pain 24/7. They removed the leg three years ago but theat body part was like an elephant in our lives and in our souls. Good write.
