So So Wrong

So So Wrong

A Poem by Barbara Walker

You

caught my attention,

oh, yeah,

you did, hon.

Swept me

off my feet,

though I tried

to keep you from knowing.

After all,

a woman

has to protect her heart

and

though I am strong,

the way

you left me

was so, so wrong.

the passion of new love does often sweep one away ; losing perspective and leaving ourselves and our hearts wide open to the hurt that might be forthcoming. But , oh what a way to go I think, for there is nothing like the excitement of new love; and nothing like the deeper love that can grow from it. Without taking those chances with our heart; what glorious emotions we would miss out on. I liked the flow to this piece - and the ending caught me somewhat off-guard - sometimes, surprises are good. nice job.

Short, but still so much meaning behind the words. I liked that the narrator addressed the audience intimately as though they were the one that left. It gives it such a personal vibe. Brilliant.

Thank you, Ashira!
The pericardium is suppose to protect the heart
but it is the psychic membranes that alternately
break down and grow stronger.

They try to take the craziness away from us.
