Two Trees

Two Trees

A Poem by Fading-to-Gray

I saw two trees
Growing so close their trunks had fused together
I thought the roots must be hopelessly intertwined
Branches sprawling, they were strong and beautiful together.
Years later i passed those same two trees
To find them laying upturned
One bare of leaves,
The other still green.
And I understood.

Very nicely written. Deeper than I was expecting. But your words so simple and nice flow too.

thank you so much:)
Oh wow. This is a very simple, yet deep poem. The first word that popped into my head when I read the last line was "damn". A short poem that says all it needs to.
