Memories

Memories

A Poem by fairygirl2468
"

Reminiscing on the past on childhood dreams, friendships you know.

"

Scrapbooking our memories into a book of papers
Pasting photos and quotes here and there
Good times flowing through my aching head

And as I sit in the passenger seat
Hair waving out the window at people passing by
I will look at each and every one of them
A reminder trickling down my porcelain cheeks

Remembering the place I came from
And all the people I once knew and loved
Lives in front of the cameras
Spotlight on our every move
The laughs we shared,
The tears we dealt with,
The all nighters that we attempted to pull through.

The fights we had,
The talks we shared.
They all show in our eyes,
In our poses,
In our smiles,
And in our tears.

The heart ache and the love,
The innocence and the mistakes,
The regrets and the tears,
And the friendships lost in time

So I guess goodbyes really are forever,
And duct tape really doesn’t heal broken hearts,
And feeling sorry for yourself really does get you anywhere.
And in this good-bye, I have matured

And I will continue to mature,
I will chase my shattered dreams,
Rebuild all of these broken down walls,
Repair this worn down heart
And remember all of you in the memories that we shared.

fairygirl2468,

This is GORGEOUS!!!

Truth in words and wisdom written within sentences- you have the ability to make someone visually recall their child-hood memories and feel the warmth on their faces.

Even though we all are not cut from the same glass... we are all able to identify with this write.

"Remember to wash behind your ears" - an old adage that seems to apply to more than just cleanliness.

This write was amazingly beautiful and I appreciate the thought placed into it.

Keep writing, continue growing, and enjoy the change.

Serious consideration should be taken to place this into Poetic Infusion Society's Contest Enlightenment... I think it would be a great entry.

Thank you for sharing,

In line two did you intend to also paste quotes or just photos? I really enjoyed the poem- It's realistic and easy to idenitfy with no matter one's background.

the only thing I'd change about it is the amount of the word "shared" I'd exchange at least one to another word, but if you intended it then you leave it how you like it, I'm a big believer in writing to please yourself. I enjoyed it! "And duct tape really doesn’t heal broken hearts" That was my favorite line. =] Keep up the good work.

I really enjoyed the emotions, sad but left room for hope.
So nicely written. Enjoyed reading this.
