Ephemeral life and eternal sleep

Ephemeral life and eternal sleep

A Poem by Faith Pi
"

A comparison between center city and the woodlands in Philadelphia.

"

High-rises touching the clouds, men and women busily walking along its blocks,

People conducting business, shopping, eating, drinking, dancing out their socks,

Lost in myriad things to vie, life does thrive, it's a downtown high.

Flowers growing from their tombstone, mostly alone, some got company,

Young, old and family - from centuries ago till now, all lie together, their lives a mystery,

Sleeping in their casket, life is quiet, what did one get with all that riot?

Center city got me frisson, but the woodlands got me free-of,

Is it coz I see peace at final destination or a solace that my final destination is peace?

We are here but for that which is in the grand scheme of life only time that flashes here and gone the blink of an eye. I believe that our final destination is peace as this portion of time that we are allotted by our Father God is perhaps our testing ground; what have we made of it, what shall we leave behind. Though to Him, we are all equal, and are each given His Agape Love!
I am impressed at your look at life and the death that shall come to all of us! I am most impressed by the line about the flowers growing from their tombstones. Some tombstones shall have flowers, others are without yet it does not mean they were not loved; perhaps just that those who have cared are no longer among the living to remember them. They live on in us, passed through our DNA from the past to the present. We are eternal because of our Loving God!
Always hold onto your faith!!

Nicely done, and so true about temporal life drawing us away from the sense of the eternal-- though I don't suspect the endless soul ever sleeps, not even in sleep...
