A Good Life

A Good Life

A Poem by James Lagoski

A Good Life
06/23/05

Robert had always lived a good life
He had 3 children and a loving wife
His job was at a big corporate company
So he never really worried about money

But it seems the economy started to crash
And carefree days were falling in the trash
For awhile his life still went fairly well
But before very long it all went to hell

He began struggling to make ends meet
There were moments he began to feel beat
Soon the bills were climbing over his head
Even though he worked until his fingers bled

Many people like Robert were also reeling
As the cost of living went through the ceiling
We found that many started acting desperately
When they began losing their homes and security

Roberts family lost possessions that they had
But it didn’t make them angry or even mad
He knew they could fair the stormy weather
By believing in the love that kept them together

So remember as the life we knew disappears
Don’t be consumed by your doubts or fears
Your heart holds what we need to survive
If you’re grateful everyday to still be alive

With the world facing the changes ahead I wanted to
share this thought with you all-
As we begin being reminded of what this life is really
about, some will struggle with the loss of everyday
comforts they've grown accustumed to and may forget
why it is necessary for the rejuvenation to occur-
PLEASE-Help each other out-
You certainly won't get it from the governmental leaders
who have allowed their greed and need for personal gain
to place this world in the state it is in-
Best Wishes to You all~
Peace~
James

There were things starting to happen that made me question my sanity. I was beginning to see visions both awake and asleep that were far beyond this realm. I had experiences that were leaving ways to .. more..
