Solitude

Solitude

A Poem by Alex

Isolated.

Detached from society.

She calls to me,

And I close me ears and close my door.
What is that?
Don’t I want more?
But dear,

What more could I want?
Inside this mind of mine
Lie cities and oceans
And skies and all the sands of time.

Everything here I can find,
And never will I want more.
Solitary confinement to a world of undiminished possibilities.
Marooned on this island of infinite dreams,
I hope never to return to the world without.
For the world within is an Indian Summer.
Never ending; Never Surrendering
And always endearing, complete understanding
Of self.
Inside I find all that I am.
I see so many things and
All that I can be.
I see whatever I want to see.

I see freely.
And I see me.
