O Blighted Lover

O Blighted Lover

A Poem by felioness
"

a lover's lamment

"

O blighted lover
Gorged and bloated upon self deceptive lies
Billowing insensately
Inside your secret mind
Yours is an uneasy crepuscular
Of betrayals yet unborn
Of love you speak...?
O love of self!
And all that sates
Your hungry form

Those idle and erotic motions
So mortal, base and clever
You weave a tainted tapestry
And tie loose ends together
Without one thread of self awareness

(mirror, mirror...who's the fairest)

Yours is a world of grand illusion
You blithely live in self delusion
Of love you speak...?
O love of self!

(alas... a sad conception)

To never gaze upon a face
Devoid of your reflection
To only want and suck and drain
An incubus
Of lies and pain

Self deception, the language of love.
The lover thinks that by kidding his
lover he enhances his desirablility.
Well, only in his image of self, by lies
he makes himself look nice, but she is
left to inherit the lot of deceit and treachery .
Great poem, very true .

Thank you,
