Making My Way Back Home

Making My Way Back Home

A Poem by felioness
"

Sometimes it is hard to find your way back when faced with hardships or sudden loss.

"

dust devils greet me as i walk

spinning at my feet

fielding small pebbles into  tired eyes

the skies are alive

tattered strata-formed clouds scudding across expanses

of changing blues

like my mood

like those pesky inner demons that won't let me sleep

or stop thinking of you

change happens in a blink of a dust filled eye

paths turn, clouds thicken

and raindrops mingle with the salt of tears

you try so hard to hide

... when the future seems impenetrable

with no end in sight

kicking my foot through dust devils

i squint

and look upward

peering at the sun

... weak but still visible

like this shattered heart worn upon my sleeve

i will grieve but i will carry on

to face the unknown like a warrior

and make my way back home

your opening left me speechless:

"dust devils greet me as i walk
spinning at my feet
fielding small pebbles into tired eyes"

And the rest just embrace me as a whole....
Your presentation, exhale of words were brilliant..

Thx for the post... ~hugs~

thanks for the read!
I couldn't help but think of Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones as I read this. It's beautifully sad:

change happens in a blink of a dust filled eye
paths turn, clouds thicken
and raindrops mingle with the salt of tears
you try so hard to hide
