Redemption

Redemption

A Poem by Chris Willits
"

I really wish I could write happier poems. But I used to be a very depressed life so I think I developed a pessimistic view on things. But I'm trying to write something different.

"

I watch the water cascading

down into the dark summit

it is a beautiful sight

I feel connected in a way to the water

as if I was the one falling

so many things have happened

I fell in love

and so many things were great

I had a good job

I had good relationships withe everyone

but then everything changed

I succumbed to the temptations

everything fell apart and I changed

I ignored everyone and even hurt some

and I lost the job, the friends

and finally my love

I fell so far down that I almost lost everything

even my life

I now see what I have done

and deeply regret all I've done

I will change myself

and redeem what I've done

no matter what it takes

There are some good lines here, Chris. "I watch the water cascading/down into the dark summit." That's a beautiful image. You express your emotions well, freely, willingly. These are goods traits for an aspiring poet. I think it is extremely important for everyone to release their emotions, and not leave them trapped within. Your redemption, of course, is up to you to find, but may I suggest the place to look for it is in the giving of love to others. Love given freely, is almost always returned!
