3am Monday Morning

A Poem by Duke

It’s that time again, when clarity has deserted and bitterness remains

When the moment you miss the most seems furthest away

It’s that time again, I flirt with my thoughts like a foolish cliché

Just call a spade, a spade

It’s that time again, when emptiness is the only substance left

When a forgotten friend climbs the ladder of your congested mind

It’s that time again, I ponder if I should pray like an innocent child

The clock is ticking

It’s that time again

The "forgotten friend/congested mind" line hit me pretty hard. Excellent work, tells a clear story even as short as it is.
