Slit Wrists and Forced Smiles

Slit Wrists and Forced Smiles

A Poem by Fighter/Lover

Slit wrists

Forced smiles

Healed scars

Gone for miles

Broken wings

Broken hearts

Broken dreams

Fall apart

She sits alone

Keeps to herself

All her hopes

High on a shelf

Broken here

Broken there

Shattered life

The wear and tear

Bloody clothes

Bloody blade

Her blood like crimson

Her soul like a spade

She slits each wrist

She hides each scar

Her broken smile

Breaks my heart

Flows gently, swiftly, and is overall amazing. This is perfectly depicted, imaginitive, and blunt. I've written pieces similiar, but nothing to this magnitude. Well done.
