A Face Illuminated

A Face Illuminated

A Poem by Richard McLin
"

A man comes attempts to come to terms.

"

You lay there with the sun on your face.

Motionless

Your hand in mine, I kiss your fingers.

Cold

I know you will soon wake in a better place.

Without Me

When I sit by you, I realize your scent still lingers.

Comforting

I raise my hand, and caress your face .

Miss You

I then close your beautiful eyes, will never open again.

End

Monumentally sad. Sitting next to the lifeless body of someone you deeply love and knowing you will never be able to see their smile, kiss their lips, listen to their laugh...well, it's something many of us will relate with and you created the scene so beautifully. The font changes are effective. Great write. Lydi**

I read this as a gentle dream... even if that dream is to step into a picture and dive within it, there is quietness in these lines, that drift us away... there is longing and softness that dwell us into Your world, even if it's a photo and her eyes might never open again, still this is so very lovely....

Not easy having to let go when things are so very final, but in letting go there’s life in abundance, lovely poem🌹

The stop. Go. Stop. Go... Feel of how this was presented... I liked it. Your italicized words were like a yelled whisper punctuating each breath and line... Very well penned...
